In 2009 the state legislature passed a reform that made Maryland’s death penalty the narrowest in the nation. The system is still unfairly applied and risks executing an innocent person. And now the process is even longer, more complicated, and painful for victims’ families.

Maryland has learned the critical lesson that the more you try to fix the system, the worse it gets.

Thousands of citizens have already called on their lawmakers to support repeal. Now we need your help to ensure state leaders know the time has come to end the death penalty in Maryland and use the savings to increase support for victims’ families!
