What is YWA? What are the Six Nominee Categories? Community Organizing/Labor Work: A woman who works in the labor movement or as a community organizer. Nominees in this category may work for a union or advocate on behalf of women's rights through another organization locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. Innovation: A woman who embodies an entrepreneurial spirit in the nonprofit, private or public sector. Nominees in this category may be an innovator in their field or have founded or managed an organization that promotes social change. Leadership: A woman who demonstrates a commitment to leadership in public policy, government, corporate or media organizations. Nominees in this category hold an elected office or head an organization that promotes social change. Political/Campaign Work: A woman who engages in politics to promote pro-choice, Democratic values. Nominees in this category may have worked on a campaign or for a political official or organization. Service/Nonprofit Advocacy: A woman who is committeed to community service or civic engagement. Nominees in this category may work for a nonprofit organization in their personal or professional life. Women in the Choice Movement: A woman who promotes the pro-choice values of WIN through their work in the choice movement. Nominees in this category advocate on behalf of woman's right to choose in their personal or professional life. The YWA winners' names will be revealed at the awards ceremony. Event Details
