Sacramento residents use twice the amount of water per capita than cities in the southern part of our state! With growing concern about demand and increasing scientific data on the supply challenges in our state, everyone needs to step up and do their part to conserve this precious resource. We will view a new 22 minute film - "A Climate of Change" - produced jointly by the State Department of Water Resources and the nonprofit Water Education Foundation. Following the film will be a panel presentation from City, State and Regional Water Department staff on what can be done individually and collectively to address water conservation. Panelists will include Summer Christensen from the County of Sacramento Department of Water Resources; Linda Higgins from the Regional Water Authority; and
Project Landscape Architect David Campbell, CRLA/LEED AP, from the HLA Group. Register!

This tour features seven sites in the Placerville, Garden Valley and Lotus area (greater Sacramento) with solar, geothermal, energy neutral straw bale construction, use of reclaimed building materials, native plant and drought tolerant gardens, plus fun & fanciful art made from recycled materials including an amazing 20 foot long fire breathing dragon! The first of 7 stops, the new and innovative ANOVA Architects Studio in Placerville is a living learning center for green building techniques and has received a LEED Gold rating.
Three of the homes are located on the South Fork of the American River in historic Lotus near the 1848 gold discovery site.
