Slavery here in America today? Travel to Florida with T'ruah to learn more!
Since 2009, T'ruah has been one of the leading Jewish voices in the fight against human trafficking and modern slavery. Travel with us to Florida to meet with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and learn about their successes in the fight to end slavery in the tomato fields, through raising wages and partnering with growers and retailers to ensure human rights are respected in the fields. You will have the opportunity to meet with the workers, mobilize for action in your community, and learn more from T'ruah about the problem of modern slavery and how the CIW's campaign ends the root causes of modern slavery.
Read more about T'ruah's support for the CIW and watch our film "Tomato Rabbis."
We are offering one FREE slot (including airfare to Fort Myers) on this trip to a rabbinical student. This is an amazing opportunity to both meet with the members of the most exciting worker justice campaign in the United States today and get to know dynamic T'ruah rabbis who are deeply engaged in social justice.
In return for the scholarship, the selected student will be expected to arrive a day (October 20th) before the rest of the delegation to assist with on the ground logistics.
