Community Voices on the Economy

Community Voices on the Economy (CVE) is a joint project of the Ms. Foundation for Women and the Center for Community Change (CCC). The goal of CVE is to help local and national social change organizations understand how low-income communities are faring in the current economic crisis and how these communities view potential economic solutions. The project includes a particular focus on communities of color, and especially women in those communities.

CVE provides grassroots organizations with an opportunity to engage and expand their base and to help develop advocacy strategies that have been tested through a major national poll conducted by Lake Research Partner. The findings of the poll can be used to influence target audiences and affect current and future policy debates at the local, state and federal level. Ultimately, CVE will help local and national groups identify economic solutions likely to garner the most support from their base and build the case for these solutions among decision-makers.

This project was made possible in part by the W.K.Kellogg Foundation.
