Tell LifeLock to drop sponsorship of The Huckabee Report

On his radio show, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee coldly remarked that under President Obama's health plan, Sen. Ted Kennedy would have been told to "go home and take pain pills and die.

His exact words: "It was President Obama himself who suggested that seniors who don't have as long to live might want to consider just taking a pain pill instead of getting an expensive operation to cure them. Yet when Sen. Kennedy was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at 77, did he give up on life and go home to take pain pills and die?"

Huckabee wants to use Senator Kennedy's death as a way to scare Americans into keeping our broken health care system. It's disgusting and insulting, and listeners deserve better.

I want to alert you to the fact that Mike Huckabee--whose "The Huckabee Report" you sponsor--is using his platform to exploit the death of Senator Ted Kennedy by making untrue and insensitive remarks on the great cause of his career: health care.

Huckabee is claiming that under President Obama's health care reform plan, Senator Ted Kennedy would have been told to "go home to take pain pills and die." The truth is Senator Kennedy lived as long as he did due government-funded health care and his own personal means. Private insurers would have flatly denied him for pre-existing condition, and people lacking such financial resources would be forced to face this alone, unprotected, and uninsured.

Huckabee knows he is wrong, but is still choosing to scare listeners from supporting real health care reform. To use his own words, "that not only defies good taste, it defies logic."

I know that your LifeLock does not want to be associated with such slanderous rhetoric, nor have your products or services advertised alongside such behavior. I urge you to immediately cease all advertising on The Huckabee Report radio program and website.
