Petition Obama for Abolition of Nuclear Weapons

A PETITION TO PRESIDENT OBAMA
FOR THE ABOLITION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS

This past April 5th in Prague, President Obama declared:

Just as we stood for freedom in the 20th century we must stand together for the right of people everywhere to live free from fear in the 21st. And as a nuclear power – as the only nuclear power to have used a nuclear weapon – the United States has a moral responsibility to act.  We cannot succeed in the endeavor alone, but we can lead it.

Now we must work together to ensure that this commitment to leadership and a world without nuclear weapons is fulfilled.

This petition was drafted by member organizations of United for Peace and Justice, including WILPF, and their international allies. It is now being circulated by these organizations with each doing their share to collect millions of signatures in the United States and around the world. The journey to a million signatures begins with each one of us.

271 October 05, 2010 Aliah Selah Clar Rheinstein D.Sc. DMP. Ph.D. (c) Santa Cruz, CA When we come to understand that war is a big industry game... Halaburton and other companies that make weapons... all profit at the expense of the many other needs of our world. It is not just fear, that is what they use to sell their deadly products. Yet it is greed that feeds war. We are brilliant as a species... why can't we make peace just as profitable... why can't we invest in peace. These companies who profit from war need to know... we are no longer interested in investing in fear and greed... we are into growing peace and investing in peace... Education & Healthcare and how the 2 are connected... I am doing a documentary on it; www.cocreating.us
When asked what can one do?
They can do what they can do... and if everyone does what they can do... we would be very strong. Love is stronger than fear... and greed gets old when you open your heart to all those who have lost their jobs and homes. It is time to stop investing in fear and greed and take care of our people... this is investing in peace.
270 March 14, 2010 brad Czerny Tucson, AZ As a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, you have a sacred and especially responsible duty to END the nuclear arms race. As a President who is fighting 5 wars (all involving depleted uranium), how in good conscience could you accept this award? The answer here is for the U.S., the only country to use atomic weaponry, to set the example and lead the world in nuclear abolotion. Otherwise, many countries and terrorists all over the world will just try to keep up in obtaining atomic weaponry. In Peace, Brad Czerny

As a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, you have a sacred resonsibility to do all you can to END the arms race. You must undo

255 September 19, 2009 Anonymous Olympia, WA Dear Mr. Obama ~ Thank you for so graciously sharing with the USA & the world your gifts of high intelligence, steadfast courage, outstandingly inspirational leadership & communication skills, compassionately inclusive world view, & other gifts too numerous to list here (& all wrapped up in such an attractive package! ~ awesome!!). The lovely Mrs. Obama understands why millions of women around the world love her exceptionally fine husband "purely & chastely from afar."
Mr. Obama, to further demonstrate your all-encompassing, compassionate world view, I hope to someday soon hear you conclude your speeches with, "May God continue to bless the USA, & ALL THE PEOPLES OF THE WORLD, with PEACE ON EARTH & GOOD WILL TO ALL HIS CHILDREN." (& then flash your "healing" smile!!).
With heartfelt thanks & appreciation from one of your millions of secret admirers of the feminine persuasion...
