Take Action

Help the TRCP in its mission to gaurantee all Americans a place to hunt and fish by participating in the following grassroots efforts:

We are Wetlands
The TRCP is collecting 80,000 signatures--one for every acre of natural wetlands lost each year--to show the importance of conserving this valuable resource. Sign the petition today.

Bank on the Backcountry
America’s national forest roadless areas, commonly called “backcountry,” provide exceptional hunting and fishing, top-quality fish and wildlife habitat and increased opportunities to pursue fish and game, thereby benefiting our nation’s sportsmen and businesses alike. We need your business or organization to make a commitment to our backcountry. Encourage your group to support "Banking on the Backcountry."

Urge Your Representative to Support Mining Reform
The General Mining Law of 1872, which governs hard-rock mining on public lands, has not changed in 137 years. Without meaningful reform of the law, many of America's most treasured public lands remain at risk, including important wildlife habitat and hunting areas, valuable fisheries, popular recreation sites, vital municipal water supplies, and sensitive roadless areas. Contact your representatives today and ask them to cosponsor H.R. 699, the Hardrock Mining and Reclamation Act of 2009.

Ask Your Senator to Co-Sponsor and Support the Clean Water Restoration Act
America's wetlands and waters recently have lost important protections. Learn more about what's at stake, and contact your senators today to urge them to co-sponsor and support the Clean Water Restoration Act.

Help Your Local Fish and Wildlife Populations
The Teaming with Wildlife Act, a new bill introduced in the U.S. Senate would bring additional funds to help fish and wildlife in your home state. Ask your senators to co-sponsor and support this important legislation.

Coloradans, Urge Your Governor to Fix or Nix the Colorado Roadless Rule
Ask Gov. Bill Ritter to add “teeth” to the Colorado roadless rule, so we can uphold the values – Tradition, Economy, Experience, Trophies and Habitat – that roadless areas sustain.

Hunters and Anglers for Responsible Development
The TRCP works to ensure that public-lands energy development sustains fish and wildlife populations and America's hunting and fishing traditions. Read about and endorse our FACTS principles by joining the TRCP's grassroots sportsmen's campaign.
