Rutgers Labor Education Center Room 115, New Brunswick NJ
$12 Dinner Donation Requested at the Door
On Wednesday, June 6th, WEC will host a lively discussion with representatives of OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. This is your chance to meet your OSHA regional representatives and to ask them questions.
We will discuss:
- OSHA's new policy suggesting that safety incentive programs, such as encouraging or rewarding workers for not reporting hazards or injuries, is a violation of the anti-discrimination provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
- OSHA's major new revisions to its "chemical right to know rule", the Hazard Communication Standard.
- OSHA's new National Emphasis Program for nursing homes and their continuing inspection emphasis on chemical plants.
- OSHA’s oversight of NJ's enforcement of the state Public Employee Occupational Safety and Health Act.
A majority of the program will be in “Question and Answer” format, so bring your questions about your workplace conditions! Laura Kenny, OSHA Regional Labor Liaison, and other OSHA staff will address your concerns.
