Dinah and her Brothers: A Study of Genesis Chapter 34 and the Novel, The Red Tent, By Anita Diamant
This session will offer a unique look into the history of Hebrew Scriptures and the story of Jacob. The Red Tent is a sweeping piece of fiction that offers an insider's look at the daily life of a biblical sorority of mothers and wives from the book of Genesis and their one and only daughter.
Re-told as a midrash of the biblical text in the confiding and poetic voice of Jacob's daughter, Dinah, the stories of her four mothers: Rachel, Leah, Zilpah, and Bilhah- all wives to Jacon, are brought vividly to life.
Fort Washington Collegiate Church is important to me because at Fort Washington I can go to church and openly worship God. It is the "best fit" church for me.
