Intersections Celebrates World Refugee Day at The Kennedy Center
On June 20, 2012 - World Refugee Day - Kim Schultz will perform the play “No Place Called Home” at The Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater in Washington, DC. It is a heartrending story about how millions of families have lost their homes to war and violence. C. Eduardo Vargas of Intersections will facilitate a post-play discussion about Iraqi refugees with Schultz.
Intersections is also leading a “Postcards to the President” campaign, mailing over 1,000 signed postcards to bring attention to the largest underreported refugee crisis of this century. The timing is essential since government attention is being drawn to the Syrian crisis which directly impacts the wellbeing and future of Iraqi refugees (Syria hosts +/- 1.25 million Iraqi refugees).
