Do you value providing customers with safe, non-toxic personal care products? Help us educate consumers and shift the industry to greener, cleaner and healthier products by joining the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Business Network! The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a national coalition working to eliminate harmful chemicals from personal care products. We are committed to protecting the health of people and the environment while simultaneously fostering a vibrant, green economy that creates new opportunities for sustainable businesses. To this end, we're working with hundreds of forward-thinking companies, more than 100 endorsing organizations, and thousands of individuals to shift the cosmetics market and federal and state policies toward truly safe products.
Companies in the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Business Network support our mission and will work with us to:
1. Stimulate the innovation of the safe, non-toxic personal care products that the world market is demanding;
2. Protect consumers, workers and the environment from exposure to chemicals linked to cancer, reproductive harm and other adverse health impacts; and
3. Ensure everyone in the U.S. has access to safe personal care products, regardless of geography and income.
Consumers want to know that the personal care products they are using are safe; as a member of the beauty industry you can help win their confidence by supporting the mission of the Campaign. We will highlight Business Network members in our media outreach, on our website and community forums, and in our grassroots outreach. To help us achieve the above, Business Network members commit to do the following, as appropriate and when the Campaign calls on you via monthly e-newsletter:
• Educate!
° Link to www.safecosmetics.org on your website and let people know you're a Business Network member
° Print out our materials and share them with clients, suppliers and friends.
• Spread the word!
° Share Campaign action alerts, tweets and Facebook posts.
° Blog about our shared mission.
° Promote Campaign reports, videos and initiatives.
° Submit comments, letters to the editor or opinion pieces to online and print media outlets.
• Show up and chime in!
° Support or attend educational events, hearings, etc.
° Join occasional Campaign webinars and meetings to learn more and offer your ideas for continuing to move us closer to our shared mission.
