Secretary Clinton: Stop selling Bahrain arms that are used against civilians!!

The U.S. Government is selling military equipment to Bahrain, despite outrage from Congress, human rights organizations, and Bahraini activists about continued gross human rights violations committed by Bahraini security forces. U.S. arms have been used to put down peaceful protests, leading to injury, and in some cases, death. State Department officials say the items in these transfers can't be used against protestors. But this claim can't be confirmed or denied, due to lack of transparency with the public and Congress over what equipment was sold to Bahrain. Tell Secretary Clinton that when the U.S. continues to arm the Bahraini government, it sends the signal that the U.S. is not on the side of the Bahraini people, and it needs to stop.
The U.S. government has resumed selling arms and military equipment to Bahrain despite outcry from Congress, human rights organizations, and Bahraini activists about gross human rights violations being committed in that country by security forces.
When the United States continues to arm the Bahraini regime, it sends the signal that the U.S. is not on the side of the Bahraini people, and it needs to stop. Please reconsider any current or future arms sales made with the Bahraini government until officials respect the human rights of the people.
