Happy 10th Birthday International Criminal Court!

Today marks the International Criminal Court's 10th birthday. Between the Rome Statute's 10th Anniversary on July 1 and July 17, which commemorates International Justice Day, we will be celebrating the accomplishments of the ICC. Send your messages of support for the ICC to U.S. Ambassador Stephen Rapp, who leads the State Department's Office of Global Criminal Justice.
For the first time in the history of humanity, nations have come together and established a permanent means of holding tyrants and human rights abusers accountable, while providing a fair system of justice, even for the most heinous crimes. This is how we build a safer, more secure world. Since 2002, 121 nations joined together to create the International Criminal Court, the only permanent international court capable of trying individuals accused of genocide war crimes and crimes against humanity where there is no other recourse for justice. Send your messages of support for the ICC to U.S. Ambassador Stephen Rapp, who leads the State Department's Office of Global Criminal Justice below.
