We are facing tough choices - how to pay bills, how to deal with mortgages, how to afford a tank of gas, and who to vote for on November 4th. While many of us are clear on who we will vote for, others will base their decisions on what they hear from the candidates in the debates.  It's critical to hear the candidates debate one another on the pressing issues facing families across America and the globe.  We demand that conversation.  That's what democracy is all about.

Join us in sending a message to the people who will be making important decisions about the upcoming debates -- the Commission on Presidential Debates, the Obama campaign, and the McCain campaign.

We demand the debates!

To: The Campaigns of Senators McCain and Obama, and the Commission on Presidential Debates I am a concerned individual who is demanding that the presidential and vice presidential debates commence as scheduled, beginning this Friday, September 26. The issues are clear -- the economy and the proposed $700 billion bailout -- and it's critical that the candidates discuss them face-to-face on a public stage as planned. While many citizens know who they will vote for on November 4, many will base their decisions on what they hear in these conversations. Anything less from the candidates this close to Election Day would be a disservice to all of us. I demand the debate in 2008.
