20 Calls in Memory of the 20 Children

The heartbreaking shootings in Newtown, CT, tragically highlighted the terrible toll that gun violence takes on our nation, our communities and our families. The shootings have renewed the call for sensible gun policies in this country. President Obama has presented a plan and we need Congress to act on this plan.  There should be background checks conducted on the sales of all guns.  Now 40% of guns are sold with no background checks at all.  Also, assault weapons and high capacity ammunition magazines do not belong in civilian hands and should no longer be sold.

Your pledge to call your members of Congress 20 times in memory of the 20 children who perished at Newtown can help bring about this change.  We will provide the telephone number and the script and you can make the calls.

"I need your help. If we’re going to succeed, it’s going to take a sustained effort from mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, law enforcement and responsible gun owners, organizing, speaking up, calling their members of Congress as many times as it takes, standing up and saying ‘Enough’ on behalf of all our kids.” -Barack Obama
