All Communities Deserve Freedom From Gun Violence
Sign the petition to urge our elected officials to join a statewide initiative to end gun violence. Working together, we can make change.
We have lost too many victims to gun violence. The mass shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, in other states and in Minnesota are emblematic of a national problem. The deaths of children, including Nizzel George, age 5, and Terrell Mayes, age 3, of Minneapolis, are simply unacceptable. It is time for us in Minnesota to focus on the problem of gun violence.
In our state, gun violence kills seven people per week and injures 14. Violence at this level devastates our families and communities.
We all have the right to live free from gun violence. Gun deaths can be prevented.
We urge our elected officials to join a statewide initiative to stop the flow of guns to our streets. We urge them to make a commitment to strong laws that disrupt gun trafficking and keep guns out of the wrong hands.
