Dear Councilor, 
 
I’m writing to urge you to be a supporter of wind energy in Ontario.

Wind energy is the fastest growing energy sector in the world. It’s a key part of Europe’s climate change action plan where turbines are operating in close proximity (and harmony) with communities.

Wind energy is not only an important tool in the fight against climate change, it’s good for the economy creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs and providing sustainable, non-polluting electricity around the world.

Wainfleet Township should welcome the opportunity to be part of a cleaner and greener future, and, more importantly, part of the solution to climate change!
 
Health and other impacts of wind turbines have been studied in conditions similar to Ontario and have been shown NOT to be significant. Please look beyond the rumours and unsubstantiated claims being circulated. Those behind the rumours and misinformation have a vested interest in killing wind energy – don’t be fooled by them.
 
I realize I’m not a resident of Wainfleet Township, but this is clearly a situation in which we should all be “thinking globally and acting locally”. What’s good for Wainfleet Township is good for Ontario, and what’s good for Ontario is good for Canada and the world.

When the upcoming vote on wind energy takes place, you can make an important contribution to the future of Ontario. Please stand strong and support wind energy.

As Tommy Douglas said: “Courage my friend … 'tis not too late to build a better world.”
