Protecting water, air & health from fracking
WORC’s team of 12 members and staff are joining thousands of people from across the country in Washington, D.C. July 28 to urge members of Congress and the Obama Administration to stop the out-of-control rush to drill that puts oil and gas industry profits over our health, our families, our property, our communities, and our futures.
As a first step, Congress and federal agencies must close loopholes in environmental protections – laws that every other industry must follow.
Contact your members of Congress and urge them to cosponsor the FRAC Act. This bill would end the hydraulic fracturing exemption from the Safe Drinking Water Act and allow the EPA to protect our drinking water from fracking’s impact. It would also require the oil and gas industry to publicly disclose the types, amounts and combinations of chemicals they use in fracturing.
