Get on the bus to Chicago!

Leaders from around the world will be gathering in Chicago this month for the NATO summit, and thousands of activists from around the country will be joining them -- to remind them that the end of AIDS is possible if they take action now. (The G8 was planned for Chicago as well, but it was relocated in anticipation of the major mobilizations!) We will be demanding that they consider a Robin Hood Tax - a tiny tax of just .5% on Wall Street transactions that could raise as much as $350 billion a year.

Health GAP is helping our partner, the National Nurses Union, in filling free buses from cities all over the US! SIgn up if you want to join one of the buses in the following cities:

New York City
Washington DC
Boston, MA
Providence, RI
Burlington, VT
Salem, NH
Philadelphia, PA
Atlanta, GA
Oakland, CA
Los Angeles, CA
San Francisco, CA
Portland, OR

The buses will be leaving on different days in order to all arrive in Chicago on May 17 and heading home on May 22 or 23. Meals will be provided on the buses. At this point, activists will be responsible for their own meals and housing in Chicago; we are working on finding a place to stay but there are no guarantees. There will be plenty of opportunities for inspiring direct action in Chicago, including The People's Summit on May 18, the 99% Solidarity People's Convention on May 19, and the CANG8 rally and march on May 20.
