Hi Friend,
Last Friday, I emailed you and asked you to sign a petition to President Obama, asking him to support the creation of a financial transactions tax (FTT), including a currency transaction levy that would raise money for global AIDS and climate change. Have you signed the petition yet? If not, take one minute to click here and sign our petition. We are hoping to get thousands of signatures to bring to the President, showing him that people around the world support the creation of an FTT.
As a reminder, an FTT is a tiny tax on speculative banking (the type of banking that caused the economic recession). It would raise as much as $700 billion for important needs like job creation, climate change, and global AIDS. Please, sign the petition today!
And if you're in New York City on Thursday, there is going to be a "Showdown on Wall Street". Join AIDS activists as we call for an FTT to raise money for global AIDS. We'll be meeting at 3pm at Broad and Worth, and marching with thousands of people to Wall Street to directly confront the bankers that caused this mess. Email Jennifer at jflynn@healthgap.org for more information.
Thank you for taking action!
Kaytee
