Hi Friend,
This is Akudo Ejelonu; I am the new staff person at Health GAP. We have a great opportunity to push Congress to make global HIV funding and policy a top priority for the 2012 budget.
By the end of this week, Members of Congress are submitting Wish Lists. A Wish List is a request that a Member of Congress submits, detailing funding priorities or policy changes for the coming year. We need to make sure that our Representatives include funding and policy for global AIDS in their Wish Lists that they are submitting to the Appropriations Committee this Friday.
The best thing to do is make a call to your Legislator's staff. You can find out their phone number here. When you call, click here to see what you can say.
If you can't make a phone call, you click here to send en email to your Congressperson. You must make changes to the letter to reflect why YOU want your legislator to fund global AIDS. Sadly, basic form letters are ignored unless you personalize them. But if you take the time to personalize them, they have a huge impact on how your Member of Congress advocates for global AIDS funding.
Please contact me at akudo@healthgap.org (email) or 617-880-9208 (cell) for questions and support. Due to time sensitivity of this request, we urge you to call or email today.
Thanks for all you do.
