Women's Solidarity Day and Reproductive Parity Act Hearings

We need YOU to join NARAL and our coalition partners at the Reproductive Parity Act (HB 2330/SB 6185) hearings on Thursday, January 19. The House hearing is at 10am (House Hearing Room B, John L. O'Brien Building) and the Senate hearing is at 1:30pm (Senate Hearing Room 4, J.A. Cherberg Building). We’re asking our supporters to arrive by 8am. Let’s show our legislators how many Washingtonians believe that insurance should cover comprehensive reproductive health care, including abortion.

Between hearings, legislators, staff and activists will be joining us to say “thank you” to the pro-choice champions in Washington State for standing up for women’s rights and health. Wear turquoise, wear your buttons and come ready to stand in solidarity with Washington’s pro-choice majority.

The Reproductive Parity Act will strengthen Washington State values and ensure that our health care system is fair and equitable by requiring all health insurance policies sold in Washington that cover maternity care to also cover abortion care.

We will be meeting at the legislative building between Cherry Street and Sid Snyder Avenue at 8 am. Parking is extremely limited in Olympia. We highly recommend carpooling – carpools from Seattle are available. If you are interested in a Seattle carpool, email Alison Mondi.

Unfortunately, lunch will not be provided. Please bring a brown bag or plan to purchase a quick bite to eat.
