Serena is a young family physician breaking down barriers in Montana. The community health center where she works would not let her provide IUDs to her patients because the management feared that offering IUDs would cause the health center to lose money. Today, Serena is providing her patients with IUDs because of the Reproductive Health Access Project’s help. We did the research and provided her with the information her health center needed to get reimbursed for providing IUDs. We made a strong case that providing women with IUDs was cost-effective for both the women and the health center.
