About the Program
The Notah Begay III Foundation is pleased to announce to launch of the 2012 Soccer Awards for Program Support and Technical Assistance to support programs focused on the prevention of obesity and type 2 diabetes among Native American youth through the sport of soccer. The NB3 Foundation's Soccer Awards Program is designed to provide support to 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, Pueblos and Tribal Nations with existing soccer programs serving Native American youth. The awards are competitive and include a combination of a cash award and technical assistance.

Our aim is to enhance existing soccer programs through the application of the evidence-based NB3 Soccer model, which includes both player development and coaching education components. Preference will be given to programs that include obesity and type 2 diabetes prevention and/or youth leadership development through the sport of soccer.
