Nearly 1,800 Washingtonians came together at the One City Summit
on Saturday, February 11, 2012 to discuss the City's future.

Dear One City Summit Particpants I cannot tell you how gratifying it was to see you and the nearly 2,000 other D.C. residents and volunteers show up, roll up your sleeves and make the One City Summit on Saturday, February 11th a great success! As you know, throughout the day participants discussed how we: 1) Create a more diverse and growing economy,
2) Ensure greater early success for all infants and toddlers,
3) Educate our youth for the economy of tomorrow, and
4) Align residents’ job skills with our growing economy.
Results of the discussions and votes during the day were shared in a preliminary report passed out onsite at the end of the day. My administration is reviewing the Summit results to ensure that we make the most effective use of the guidance and recommendations you provided on the 11th. I want you to know that we listened, and that your input will help guide my administration. You will hear back from us in April on the actions we will take as a result of the Summit. At that time, I will also share specifically how my Administration will be working to make the progress necessary to become “One City” and how I expect you to hold me and my administration accountable. Expect us to keep you apprised of the progress we are making throughout the year. We will also report back on our progress a year from now – at the second annual One City Summit – where we will continue the discussion of the challenges and opportunities facing our great city. Thank you again for participating in the One City Summit. It would not have been a success without your involvement! Sincerely Vincent C. Gray
