In the final month of the legislative session, we need your support for legislation to prevent and end homelessness in California!
AB 826 (Atkins) is legislation sponsored by the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) and would provide guidelines for use of Integrated Services for Mentally Ill Parolee (ISMIP) funds existing in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation budget. The bill would require the Department to:
1) Identify prisoners with mental illness who are most likely to fall into homelessness upon release as ISMIP participants;
2) Provide "in-reach" case management and discharge planning services to participants; and
3) Ensure that funds are used to foster housing stability while participants are on parole, including provision of supportive housing.

SCANPH opposes the Community Care Facilities Ordinance (CCFO), which is expected to be considered by the full Los Angeles City Council the week of January 28th, most likely at the January 30th City Council meeting. In it's most current form, it would negatively impact affordable housing in Los Angeles, especially for its most vulnerable populations.
