AB 1167: Ask Your Senator to Vote "Yes" to Create a State Interagency Council on Homelessness

Fax a letter on AB 1167. California is one of only 10 states without an interagency council on homelessness. This bill would create such a council.

AB 1167
(Fong) would create a State Interagency Council on Homelessness. This would provide a forum for state agencies and others who work on homelessness issues to take a comprehensive look at the many facets of homelessness, the solutions necessary for prevention and ending homelessness, and put California in a better position to increase federal funding to address homelessness.

Even though California has the highest homelessness population in the country (133,000), we are one of only a few states not to have this type of interagency coordination between state agencies. AB 1167 would change that and make homelessness a higher priority. At a time when economic hardships and budget cuts could result in additional homelessness, it is more vital than ever that we have a coordinated response to this multifaceted issue. View AB 1167
