Community Screening of FRESH the Movie
Get inspired with "Fresh" local food ideas at the Belfast screening of FRESH the Movie, showing, at the Belfast Free Library on Tuesday, November 3rd from 6:30-8 pm. This program is free and all are invited to attend. Following the film will be a discussion with farmers Polly Shykja and Prentice Grassi, owners of Village Farm in Freedom, Maine. Polly and Prentice create community around local food at their 120 acre, organic farm by inviting their CSA members (folks that pre-purchase a share of the farm's crops) to participate in workday parties, potlucks and blogging. The film and discussion are co-sponsored by the Belfast Co-op and the Belfast Free library as part of the Co-op's November Eat Local Challenge. For information about the Eat Local Challenge go to www.belfast.coop or call 338-2532.
