| 68 | December 24, 2009 | Brenda Prevatte | Lumberton | Our children are our future. As a mother and grandmother, I know how important it is to have good healthcare available for our kids so they can grow up to become strong leaders in our community and our world. Bless the children. |
| 67 | November 24, 2009 | MrBill Walker | Apex | Our children are reflections of who we are. They are the opportunity we never had. You can say they are the hearts and brains of the future. Is our future receiving the greatest opportunity to grow?

| 66 | November 21, 2009 | Christina Blackwell | Charleston | I am graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing in May 2010 and planning to move to the Raleigh area. After working with the children and healthcare teams at MUSC Children's Hospital in Charleston, SC, the need for a children's hospital in Wake County is very clear. Children simply need specialized care; care that is very different from what is given to adults. Children experience very different medical disorders from adults. With that said, not only do they need special care for their medical condition, but they need special care because they are children. They are young and pure, and need nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers that have been especially educated in childcare methods, childcare disorders and diseases, and family centralized care. The Wake County community needs a children’s hospital. Please support their efforts. (Thank you.) |

He was very ill when I brought him in to the PEDS ER and admitted to PICU, I could say the Nurses and Doctors care and support just made it soooo comforting to go through what we were experiencing even after all he had gone through. I have never experienced that type of care and professionalism in any other hospital for any of my other children. I just want to say keep up the good work!!!! |

| 63 | October 29, 2009 | Anonymous | Clayton | At 5 weeks old, Jake started throwing up. At first, we thought it was a stomach bug, but after a day of only keeping a few ounces down at a time, our pediatrician recommended we bring him to the pediatric emergency room at WakeMed and they called ahead to let them know we were on our way.
Within 10 minutes of getting to the ER, Jake was surrounded by doctors and nurses, getting his heartbeat back under control - as it turns out, he'd been throwing up because his body was working so hard, he was in SVT (heart failure). After bringing his heartbeat back under control, he spent nearly a week in the PICU at WakeMed getting tested and monitored by a cardiologist who diagnosed him with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. He spent a year on medication, but now at 2 1/2 is medicine free and perpetual motion! I will never be able to thank WakeMed pediatric ER and PICU enough for saving my baby's life, and want everyone to know how amazing they and the services they provide are. |

Children make us smile and feel better, we need to do the same for them. Being an employee now with Wake Medical Center for five years I am excited for the years to come, when I can help inspire children as they inspire me. This is going to be AWESOME!! |
| 60 | October 14, 2009 | Susan Hester | Cary | Children and grandchildren are such blessings! They are the future of our families and communities. They depend on us to make the right choices for them, including where we take them for the very best health care. Access to immediate and high quality health care is critical for all children and can be consistently experienced at WakeMed. The Children's Hospital will support WakeMed's decades-long commitment to caring for children with compassion and expertise. |

| 56 | October 05, 2009 | Anonymous | Rolesville | My wife and I lost our first child at 20 months of age. He never had the chance to make it to a hospital, as he was pronounced dead in our home. I pray that no child ever emergently needs the services that WakeMed provides. But, no matter how devout in prayer one is, bad things happen and these services will be required.
Wishing ill on no one, think about what if it is you or your child in need? I do think about this, not only from my experience, but because I do not know if my living child will ever require these services, so that is why my wife and I support the "Just for Kids Kampaign". |
| 55 | October 05, 2009 | Christine Webb | Wilson | When your child is sick, you want someone who specializes & understands all aspects of childrens healthcare. Parents & caregivers deserve to feel confident in the care their child is receiving. A pediatric focus is certainly a specialty! |
| 54 | October 05, 2009 | Cathy Gerrald | Raleigh | As a nurse on WakeMed's Children's Critical Care Transport Team, I see children and families facing illness or injury in what is often the worst crisis of their lives. I'm honored to be part of this specialty team, to give the very best care to our children. They deserve no less. I've been a part of the WakeMed family for almost 24 years and am proud of our staff's devotion to our smallest and most vulnerable patients. |

| 52 | October 05, 2009 | Jody Elliott | Wake Forest | This is a place where the children will be made to feel special and they will get the best care possible. |
| 51 | October 05, 2009 | Anonymous | Raleigh | How we take care of our children today will determine how we shape our future tomorrow. Aiding in keeping our children mentally and physically healthy is most important to me. It should be important to everyone. |
| 50 | October 04, 2009 | Jodi Rucker | raleigh | Whether you have children, grandchildren, or know the little ones next door or in your neighborhood and all those children that you see in our everyday life, they are our future...our lifelines in to the next century....our hopes, our dreams, our wishes for the world. I believe in them, and so should you. |
| 49 | October 03, 2009 | Tonya Smith | Raleigh | I support the Children Can't Wait, because I am a mother and I feel that all of our children deserve people who care enough to want what's best for their well being. |
| 48 | October 02, 2009 | Ruth Ramos | RALEIGH | Children are the future of those who have already journeyed through childhood. They are the doctors and nurses that will care for us in our older age. Children deserve the best health we can afford them. |
| 47 | October 02, 2009 | Nelda Bostick | Raleigh | Children are the heart of the community with the community on our hearts! They bring hope for tomorrow with their new ideas, with the way they so often show adults how a perfect world can be if they just learn to play in the sand box together! They bring so much joy to all of us, and it is very sad when they become ill and have no resources. That's why I want to do what ever possible to actualize a facility to fulfill the needs of all children when they need to get well. Suffer the little children and forbid them not, for their's is the Kingdom of Heaven! I don't have any biological children but then I have so many that I can love just like my own! |
