A special screening of "Scavenger Hunt," a feature length documentary about the endangered California condor and the threat of lead poisoning. The documentary follows biologists in Arizona as they track condors across the desert and search for a solution to the issue of lead poisoning from spent ammunition. In the film, biologists discover that lead-based ammunition fragments to a much greater extent than was previously thought possible as it passes through an animal, leaving hundreds of almost microscopic pieces of lead. This lead kills condors, and could be poisoning hunters and their families as well.
Screening will be followed by a discussion session with the filmmakers.
