Endangered Species Day at the Bangor Public Library

On Saturday, May 19 the Bangor Public Library will host a special Endangered Species Day event in the Children's Room from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Staff from the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Marine Fisheries Service will provide a variety of family-oriented games, art projects, and activities to highlight the recovery of endangered species in Maine. Children can make an Atlantic salmon wind sock and a sea turtle or Canada lynx mask. We anticipate a visit from the "Sturgeon General." A special endangered species display will be in the Children's Area throughout the month of May (check with library staff?). The event is free and families and children are encouraged to attend.
