Here are what a few of our member organizations say about the value of being a member of the ESC: Defenders of Wildlife is proud to be a member organization of the Endangered Species Coalition. For the past 27 years, we have been honored to be a part of this dynamic network hundreds of conservation, scientific, educational, religious, sporting, business and community groups across America. Working together, we have protected many of our nation's most endangered species, and - during some very desperate political times - successfully protected the Endangered Species Act itself. - Rodger Schlickheisen, President, Defenders of Wildlife
The Endangered Species Coalition brings together hundreds of organizations to collaboratively work to prevent the permanent, irreversible extinction of America’s most endangered birds and wildlife. The National Audubon Society is honored to work with the ESC and our coalition partners to help save our nation's wildlife and wild places for future generations. - Mike Daulton, Director of Conservation Policy, National Audubon Society The Association of Zoos and Aquariums has a long-standing and wonderful partnership with the Endangered Species Coalition on projects to connect children and their families with nature and to educate people about the importance of protecting our natural world. Coalition staff have worked with many AZA accredited zoos and aquariums to plan hundreds of fun and successful events for Endangered Species Day, reaching many thousands of people young and old. We are appreciative of the Endangered Species Coalition’s leadership in inspiring people to save wild animals and wild places and finding the ways in which they can contribute to their preservation. - Steve Olson, Vice President of Government Affairs, Association of Zoos and Aquariums At Restoring Eden, we see biodiversity as the very handiwork of God and that it is our sacred duty to prevent extinction. Protecting the fruitfulness of the earth happens when we protect the rich diversity of species and habitats. As a small non-profit ministry, Restoring Eden relies on the Endangered Species Coalition for their expertise and years of experience to help us focus our advocacy efforts. Thank you for your leadership. - Peter Illyn, Executive Director, Restoring Eden The Endangered Species Coalition is a leader in bringing together diverse constituencies such as conservation organizations, commercial and sport fishing associations, and businesses to work together to protect wildlife and wild places. At Save Our Wild Salmon, we have enjoyed working with coalition staff and other members to build this strong network of people who care about endangered species and their habitat. The coalition is a great resource for us to engage people across the country in our campaign to restore wild salmon and steelhead to the rivers, streams and oceans of the Pacific Salmon states. - Gilly Lyons, Washington Representative, Save Our Wild Salmon As a regional organization, we rely on the Endangered Species Coalition to amplify our voice for wildlife and plants in Washington, DC and around the country. Center for Native Ecosystems is thankful to be a member organization and to work with ESC's outstanding organizers to protect lynx, sage grouse and cutthroat trout and carry the message of the majority of Americans that our nation's natural heritage is too precious to lose. - Josh Pollock, Conservation Director, Center for Native Ecosystems The Center for Biological Diversity appreciates being a part of the Endangered Species Coalition because there is strength in many diverse groups working collectively. We further appreciate the Coalition’s information gathering and dissemination, and look forward to working together on more grassroots advocacy on behalf of imperiled species and their habitats. - Bill Snape, Senior Counsel, Center for Biological Diversity The Endangered Species Coalition plays an invaluable role in keeping its members up to speed on what we can do to help ward off threats to our nation’s biodiversity and seize opportunities to protect it. The ESC also provides an important forum for American Rivers to consult with our allies as we work to protect salmon, steelhead, and other aquatic species. - Michael Garrity, Washington State Conservation Director, American Rivers
The Endangered Species Act is one of America’s most important laws. At NRDC, we depend on the Endangered Species Coalition to bring the conservation community together to help protect and strengthen the Endangered Species Act the imperiled wildlife that depend on it. We have been fortunate to be able to work with the coalition's staff, which is on the front line of protecting wildlife on the brink, such as bald eagles, wolves, grizzly bears, and polar bears. - Andrew Wetzler, Director, Wildlife Conservation Project, Natural Resources Defense Council Thank you for your work to protect our nation's wildlife and wild places.
