Safer Products Now!
As you may already know, chemicals from everyday products are polluting our bodies. For the first time ever, California has a chance to take the lead in creating a Safe Consumer Products program, which would require the manufacturers that make our products to look for safer alternatives to the toxic chemicals they currently use. This would ensure that no unsafe products are sold on store shelves, protecting families and consumers across the country.
It's a common sense approach supported by health professionals, consumer groups, labor and other groups representing millions of Californians.
But the chemical industry is still lobbying furiously against implementation of the rules, which were passed by the legislature in 2008. Governor Brown must stand up to industry pressure and support strong rules to protect our health!
