We call on schools, districts and states to place a moratorium for no less than one year on out-of-school suspensions and demand resources and strategies for teachers, principals and schools to implement positive approaches to discipline. We believe a fair and substantive opportunity to learn requires practices and policies that support students and educators in creating safe and engaging learning communities.
