A major prison privatization bill in Florida, SB2038, is pending in the state Senate. If passed, the bill would privatize almost 30 facilities and put 3,800 state employees out of work (although they could be rehired by private prison companies at lower wages and fewer benefits). What savings would be achieved by this unprecedented prison privatization plan? Less than 1% of the state's corrections budget. Send a message to Florida senators asking them to oppose SB2038!
