Support the Direct Care Job Quality Improvement Act

Once again showing their commitment to improving the lives of direct care workers and the elderly and disabled citizens they serve, Congresswoman Linda Sanchez (D-CA) and Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr. (D-PA) introduced legislation in the U.S. House and Senate in June 2011 that would finally extend minimum wage and overtime protections to millions of home care workers in America.  But Rep. Sanchez and Sen. Casey can’t do it alone!  Please contact your Representatives and Senators in Congress today and urge them to co-sponsor the Direct Care Job Quality Improvement Act, H.R. 2341 and S. 1273.  You can do so by calling (202) 224-3121 (the Operator will connect you) or contact them online by sending an email below.

Additional information and talking points on the bill are available here.

This is a template email geared towards direct care workers, so please edit it as you see fit. Your letter should be personal and should briefly explain why you care about the bill and why your Representatives should support it.
