TELL US YOUR STORY: Your Businesses and Regulations

As you may know, a serious attack on all regulations is taking place in Congress.  While no business desires to be over-regulated, the current effort is to stop all regulations.  This puts our health, environment, and a level playing field for all businesses in jeopardy. 

The American Sustainable Business Council believes that many if not all of the anti-regulation bills are a threat to our pursuit of the triple bottom line for creating a sustainable business climate. We are working with our partners, our business supporters, and other organizations to give voice to our common concerns.

But we need the help of every ASBC partner and business supporter.

We need businesses from all over the country to share their story of how regulations have protected the health and safety of themselves, their employees and customers.  We need business owners to tell their story of how regulations have enabled them to expand their business and protected them from unfair competition from other businesses.
 
Members of Congress who oppose this onslaught against sensible regulations have specifically asked for these stories to use in floor speeches, at hearings and more. They are also looking for business owners to testify before Congress.
 
So we need stories from your business or from the members of your organization quickly.
 
Here are just some ideas for stories regarding the positive impact of regulations.  How have regulations:

  • Protected your business from unfair competition
  • Created a safer environment for your employees and customers
  • Reduced the threat of civil litigation
  • Kept you, your employees and customers healthy in the workplace
  • Provided job growth and business opportunities

 
Please include in the stories an observation on the criticism that regulations are “job killers.”
