Respond to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Request for Comments on Proposed Fracking Regulations

    Natural Gas Rig at Night

Although Governor Cuomo has not made public his decision to allow fracking, and the state’s health impact analysis has not yet been completed, New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation recently released proposed regulations for fracking (assuming it will be approved) in New York.

We urge you to submit comments to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on the newly proposed fracking regulations by January 11, 2013. This may be the last time New Yorkers have the opportunity to respond to the proposed regulations. While the regulatory review process for fracking in New York has become convoluted, we believe it is critical you take this opportunity to comment on the draft regulations now.

Please sign in below, and you will be automatically redirected to the NYS DEC site where you can view and submit comments. We will also keep you informed of future action opportunities.

Support the Resolution to Overturn Citizens United

**For Massachusetts-based businesses and residents only**

With the pervasive influence of unlimited and unaccounted for money in elections unleashed by Citizens United v. FEC, a constitutional amendment is needed to overturn the Court's decision. Please support Massachusetts's efforts to do so by asking your legislators to support a resolution (S.772) calling upon Congress to "to pass and send to the states for ratification a constitutional amendment to restore the First Amendment and fair elections to the people."

    Support E-Fairness Legislation

Brick and mortar businesses—those with a physical presence—are at a disadvantage compared to online retailers because the remote vendors get away with selling items on the Internet without collecting sales taxes while these Main Street business are obligated to collect and remit them. This imbalance hits locally owned businesses particularly hard and, as a result, adversely impacts local economies. Small businesses lose out on revenue and state governments don’t collect the money needed to pay for necessary services. As E-commerce continues to grow, the problem will only intensify. Tell Congress and State legislatures to support E-Fairness legislation.
