Tomorrow - Monday, October 24, 2011 - CMN and the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty are co-sponsoring a “Religious Leaders Dialogue on the Death Penalty” at Trinity University in San Antonio. The event, which takes place from 7-9 p.m. in Laurie Auditorium, will be moderated by CMN Executive Director Karen Clifton.
The evening brings together seven of San Antonio’s religious leaders to explore perspectives on the death penalty in a city with deep religious roots. The program will also include questions from the audience. For more information and to register for free tickets, visit the TCADP website event page.
If you live in the San Antonio area, please try to attend. If you are unable to make it - or do not live in the San Antonio area - please pass on word about the event to those who may be able to join us.
The Texas Coalition Against the Death Penalty (TCADP) has a good team and is working with dioceses and parishes to educate Catholics, as well as other denominations and religions, on the practical and ethical issues concerned with the death penalty. Please join and support their efforts to eliminate the use of the death penalty in Texas.
