Contact your member of congress and voice strong support for a Farm Bill that promotes food security for all New Yorkers

On Wednesday, July 11th the House Agriculture Committee will "mark-up" their version of the Farm Bill. The Committee released their disscussion draft of the bill last Thursday. It includes over $35 billion in spending cuts over the next 10 years, about half of which ($16 billion) will be pulled directly from SNAP.  Compare this to the Senate version of the bill released in June, already a dissapointment to anti-hunger advocates, which includes $4.5 billion in SNAP cuts. Such drastic cuts in the House version of the bill will make it more difficult for millions of struggling families and individuals to access enough food. We need your help to ensure that a strong Farm Bill that promotes food security for all New Yorkers is passed.
