Let Omar serve!

Omar Lopez, a veteran of the U.S. Navy who was discharged under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT), desperately wants to re-enlist and serve the country that he loves.

Last week, after a federal judge ruled the policy unconstitutional, Omar went to his local recruitment office to see if he could re-enlist.

Despite the law being ruled unconstitutional, Omar was turned away from the office and told that -- until the President goes on national television declaring the policy overturned -- the military has no intention of adjusting its enlistment practices.

Our Commander-in-Chief made a promise this year in the State of the Union address to repeal DADT in 2010 -- and we are now waiting to see whether the Department of Justice will continue to fight for DADT to remain the law of the land.
