Ask your Representative to co-sponsor the Toxic Chemicals Safety Act

American families are the subject of a dangerous experiment. Are you ready for some good news? Legislation has just been introduced in the House of Representatives that would, for the first time, require the chemical industry to ensure chemicals are safe before they end up in our homes, schools, and places of work.

Representatives Bobby Rush (D-IL) and Henry Waxman (D-CA) have unveiled the Toxic Chemicals Safety Act HR 5820, the strongest bill ever introduced to protect our families from toxic chemicals.

An introduced bill is the first step among many before this becomes law, so we'll be enlisting your support over the coming months to make sure the legislation guarantees the strongest protections for your family. We need your help today to ask your Members of Congress to become co-sponsors of the Toxic Chemicals Safety Act.

When TSCA became law in 1976, smoking was permitted in airplanes, hospitals, and all other public places. There were no laws requiring that children or adults wear seatbelts. Lead was still being added to gasoline.
