It's clear there are two kinds of thinking when it comes to American politics and America's future. And no, they're not the traditional "Republican vs. Democrat" or "Conservative vs. Liberal" dichotomies.

There are those that think our current system is working and those that don't.

We're nosediving into a new political reality in which the most virulently anti-government candidates will receive at least eight to ten times as much funding to get their falsehoods in front of your eyes and into your brain. Look around - this is what "American democracy" looks like.

And this paradigm doesn't just apply to the presidential and congressional races. The infected cash is flowing at every level. This virus will be in your neighborhood soon, if it isn't already.

Truthout is doing our damnedest to help invent antidotes, demonstrate clinical trials and tell the stories of those who have cured the disease or slowed its progress. But we need your support to do it! Can you contribute to this effort?
