Take Action for Two Million Jobs and Quality In-home Care

Caring Across Generations is working to create 2 million new, good jobs providing quality in-home care to our aging baby boom population.

Will you help us take the first step in convincing Congress to take action and create the 2 million care jobs our country needs?

Millions of Americans need in-home care. They are seniors and people living with disabilities and chronic medical conditions, and they need affordable support and services in order to live independently and with dignity in their homes.

Millions of Americans need good jobs. They are people who have lost jobs in the economic crisis, young people entering the job market for the first time, and workers whose current jobs do not pay a living wage.

On May 10, Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa introduced a “Sense of the Senate” resolution, S.R. 453, that supports Caring Across Generation’s policy goals. This is a crucial first step towards realizing our goal of creating 2 million new, good jobs providing quality in-home care.

“Expressing the sense of the Senate that supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities is an important responsibility of the United States, and that a comprehensive approach to expanding and supporting a strong home care workforce and making long-term services and supports affordable and accessible in communities is necessary to uphold the right of seniors and individuals with disabilities in the United States to a dignified quality of life.”
