Let Congress Know: Our Cell Phone Bills are Already Too High!
If AT&T takes over T‐Mobile, it will be a disaster for all mobile phone users—especially people of color and low‐income communities in rural and urban areas. The takeover will stifle information, choice, innovation and jobs, and lead to higher prices for mobile devices. We need Congress to oppose this deal.
If the merger goes through, just two companies, AT&T and Verizon, will control nearly 80 percent of the mobile market in this country. The loss of a low cost wireless carrier like T‐Mobile will negatively impact our communities—forcing an estimated 20,000 T-Mobile workers to lose their jobs and increasing mobile service plans by as much as $50 a month—something we cannot afford!
Take action now and urge your representative to stand up for our communities and maximize public good, not private profit. Tell them, more mergers equals more problems for our communities.
