Take Action ~
Urge State Legislators to Restore
Family Planning Funding

The two-year state budget submitted by Governor LePage includes a $448,000 annual cut in funding to Maine's family planning system. That amounts to 33% of the total state funding currently allocated for family planning services in Maine.

If these cuts pass, it will be devastating to Maine's family planning system and the people we serve. Family planning health centers, some in the most rural and underserved areas, will be forced to close their doors, leaving women, men, and teens with zero access to affordable reproductive health care services.

We need your help to fight these cuts.

Here's what you can do:

The public hearing on the family planning budget cut is March 11th.

Our strength is in numbers.

  • Join us at the State House on Friday, March 11th at 9:00am for a press conference and rally in the Hall of Flags along with other members of Friends for the Fund for a Healthy Maine.
  • Testify before the Appropriations Committee and tell them why you think it's important to defeat these cuts. If you'd like to testify, email Kate Brogan at kbrogan@fpam.org.

Even if you can't come to Augusta on March 11th you can still help.
