This Thursday, March 7th, Sally Jewell, the Obama Administration’s pick to be the next Interior Secretary, will go before the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources for her confirmation hearing. We have a simple message for the Committee: ask a question about wild horses and burros. We don’t know where Sally Jewell stands on wild horses and what she intends to do as Interior Secretary to reform the Bureau of Land Management’s program. Please join us in asking the Senate Energy Committee to directly address this at her confirmation hearing. This will both allow us to understand her position on the issue, and demonstrate to the New Secretary that the federal wild horse and burro program urgently needs her attention.
