Revoke Massey Energy's Corporate Charter

A scathing official report says Massey Energy caused the deaths of 29 miners two years ago, when its Upper Big Branch mine in West Virginia exploded. Massey’s parent corporation has also agreed to criminal and civil penalties, but Massey must pay a price beyond money for its lethal recklessness.

A corporation is an artificial entity. It exists only because we the people -- represented by a state government -- give it a charter. Just a surely as we can grant that charter, we can also revoke it.

Most major corporations in the U.S., including Massey Energy, are legally based in Delaware, so all of us across the country should petition Delaware' Attorney General to take action. Sign on below to join our call for justice and accountability.
