Ask Congress to Vote for Hunters and Anglers!
While many may bemoan the partisan gridlock that has dominated the current session of Congress, during the post-election "lame duck" session Senators and Representatives will have the chance to support a bipartisan package of bills benefiting hunters and anglers - "The Sportsmen's Act of 2012."
The Act - actually a combination of numerous smaller stand-alone bills that were previously proposed - includes measures to strengthen hunting, fishing and recreational access; to support habitat conservation; and to reauthorize many key funding programs that benefit sportsmen. For anglers some of the key pieces of this package include a provision dedicating 1.5% of Land and Water Conservation Fund dollars to strengthening hunting and fishing access to public lands; the National Fish Habitat Conservation Act establishing a grant program to protect and improve fish habitat by improving water quality and quantity; and reauthorization of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Partners for Fish and Wildlife program.

You can help by encouraging your Representative, along with Senators Bennet and Udall, to support the Sportsmen's Act during the lame duck session.
